I joined in the Fall of 2013 as a student of Rob Venette’s studying cold tolerance.
What insect(s) do you study?
My research focuses on the invasive pest spotted wing drosophila (Drosophila suzukii).
What do you research?
My master’s thesis research focuses on the cold tolerance of spotted wing drosophila, an invasive pest of soft fruits. While extremely destructive and economically damaging, its current range and adaptability to climate are unknown. This research will provide important information for both scientists and farmers alike.
